History of Disciple
Thaddaeus
St. Jude, known as Thaddaeus, was a brother of St. James the Less, and a relative of Our Saviour. Ancient writers tell us that he preached the Gospel in Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Lybia. According to Eusebius, he returned to Jerusalem in the year 62, and assisted at the election of his brother, St. Simeon, as Bishop of Jerusalem. He is an author of an epistle (letter) to the Churches of the East, particularly the Jewish converts, directed against the heresies of the Simonians, Nicolaites, and Gnostics. This Apostle is said to have suffered martyrdom in Armenia, which was then subject to Persia. The final conversion of the Armenian nation to Christianity did not take place until the third century of our era. Jude was the one who asked Jesus at the Last Supper why He would not manifest Himself to the whole world after His resurrection. Little else is known of his life. Legend claims that he visited Beirut and Edessa; possibly martyred with St. Simon in Persia. Jude is invoked in desperate situations because his New Testament letter stresses that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances, just as their forefathers had done before them. Therefore, he is the patron saint of desperate cases and his feast day is October 28. Saint Jude is not the same person as Judas Iscariot who betrayed Our Lord and despaired because of his great sin and lack of trust in God's mercy.

"A highway shall be there,
and a road,
And it shall be called
The Highway of Holiness."
- Isaiah 35:8 |
|
|
|
Question: "Why do I suffer from "painful
renunciation or elimination" in my life and how do I alleviate this condition?
|
|
Before stepping onto the Path of Holiness, I relax, I
let go, and let God. I now affirm:
"Jesus Christ is now here, raising me to His
Consciousness of release. I realize that the cleansing, purifying power of the Holy Spirit
is active in me."
The Disciple Thaddaeus represents the power of
renunciation. In the book "Christ Enthroned in Man" Cora Fillmore wrote, "The faculty of
renunciation is twofold in nature, it eliminates error and it expands the good. Every
activity of the body is fundamentally divine and it is a place for the Holy Spirit to dwell."
When I call upon the power of elimination, there
is a spiritually quickened energy that comes alive within me, a wonderful power which
establishes a freedom in my mind, body and soul, giving tone and strength and resilience
to my whole being. When the Law of Forgiveness is satisfied, the my whole being draws
new life and strength and I can begin life anew.

A song rings within me, "I am free and I
am unlimited! There are no chains to bind me! I am free and I‘m unlimited, right
now! Right now!" Rev. Janet Manning wrote this song some time ago. I heard it in
the 80’s when Jack and I were studying the "Fillmore Teachings" at School of
Christianity in Unity Village, MO.

The Power from God throws off the old
thoughts and habits and a new sense of freedom is revealed to me The ability to
release old painful thoughts of the past whether they be of yesterday or years
ago.
|
|
The remedy for elimination of this pain
is to relax and let go...
Let God!

In "The Revealing Word" Charles Fillmore states, "renunciation is a
letting go of old thoughts in order that new thoughts may find place in consciousness. A
healthy state of mind is attained when the thinker willingly lets go of the old thoughts
and take on the new. This is illustrated by the inlet and outlet of a pool of water. The
center of renunciation, sometimes called elimination, is found in the lower part of the
abdomen, and carries forward the work of elimination of error thoughts from the mind and
waste from the body"
|
|
|
Relaxation of the tense abdomen depends on the
relaxation of the tense will. Give up your willfulness and ask that the Divine Will be done
in you and in all your affairs. Jesus set aside His will that God's Will might be done in
Him. "Not my will, but Thine, be done."
Worry or anxiety about temporal needs disturbs in
the body the even flow of nature's all-providing elements. Jesus warned against tension of
anxiety, when He said, "Be not anxious for your life what ye shall eat, or what ye shall
drink nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and
the body more than the raiment?"
|
|
|
The Divine Law has been provided for man that
will meet every need when it is observed. "Seek ye first His Kingdom, and His
Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

|
I now stand in the Light of the Holy Spirit feeling His radiant Light, cleansing my whole being and to begin to live again in His Loving Grace....Amen |
